My name is Amir Soltani. I am the artistic director of Toronto’s CineIran Festival, an all-Iranian film festival in Canada’s largest city, and a freelance film critic.

I have contributed film criticism and articles to The Film Experience and Movie Mezzanine regularly, and covered festivals such as TIFF, Berlinale and Hot Docs, among others. I have presented films and lectured at various events and venues, including the TIFF Cinematheque, Na Ma Na Cinema, and University of Toronto. I was also the co-founder of Hello Cinema, an English-language podcast about Iranian films, which is currently on hiatus.
