The CineIran Festival is an initiative by a group of cinephiles in Toronto to bring the best of Iranian cinema to North American screens. The festival aims to be the biggest of its kind outside of Iran. CineIran’s mission is to present a comprehensive picture of contemporary Iranian cinema with a broad range of films from all modes and genres, including documentaries and experimental films, domestic blockbusters, internationally acclaimed festival hits and arthouse curiosities. The festival’s program includes post-screening discussions, lectures and other events with the participation of industry and academic guests. The festival’s third edition will be held in November 2017. Amir Soltani serves as the festival’s artistic director.
